In my work "Joan of Arc", I embodied the courage of a 15th century young maiden-warrior. She sought justice and bravely pursued her goal. Unfortunately, her heroic determination was halted by an unjust arrest and martyrial death through burning at the stake on 30th May 1431. She was accused of heresy, "blasphemy" and wearing men's clothing. Twenty-five years later, in 1456, the Inquisition court reviewed Joan's case and overturned the verdict, acknowledging that it was erroneous due to deception and procedural errors. Joan was honoured as a martyr, and in 1920 she was declared a saint. I think she can be seen as an inspiration to Ukrainian women warriors today.
